description: ‘Herps Buggy’- No 6577 (Waldenmaier) Single. Upright. COROLLA:
Half flared, wavy, turned under petal margins; opens light purple (N74C);
matures light reddish purple (72C); 20mm (3/4") long x 17mm (5/8") wide.
SEPALS: horizontal, tips reflexed; reddish purple (67A) upper surface;
magenta (67B) lower surface; 27mm (1 1/16") long x 9mm (5/16") wide.
STAMENS extend 6mm (1/4") beyond the corolla; pale violet (76D) filaments;
orangy brown (174B) anthers. PISTIL extends 20mm (3/4") beyond the
corolla; pale rose (73D) style; rose (68B) stigma. BUD is oblong. FOLIAGE
is dark green (136B) upper surface; medium green (138B) lower surface.
Leaves are 67mm (2 5/8") long x 31mm (1 1/4") wide; ovate shaped,
serrulate edges, acute tips, rounded bases. Veins are plum (184C), stems
are reddish purple (186B), branches are very dark reddish (186A).
PARENTAGE: 'Herps Parachute' x 'Aldham'. Small upright. Self branching.
Makes good upright. Prefers overhead filtered light, cool climate. Best
bloom & foliage color in filtered light. Tested 3 years in Herpen, The
Netherlands. Meise 9/16/06. Distinguished by bloom color. |
